Holy Ground – Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 19.09.2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before creating an account or using Holy Ground. By creating an account, starting a free trial, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Holy Ground.

1. Who we are

Holy Ground (the "App") is provided by Holy Ground Limited ("Holy Ground", "we", "us", "our"), registered at [ADDRESS] and company number 17364277.

You can contact us at info@holygroundapp.com.

2. What Holy Ground is (and is not)

Holy Ground is a Christian app designed to help you build a consistent daily rhythm of Bible study and prayer. It currently offers a daily study note, prayer tools and a personal journal. We may add, change or remove features over time.

Holy Ground is a tool to support your walk with God. It is not a replacement for Scripture itself, your church, your pastor or spiritual leaders, or your relationship with God.

Please understand that:

  • Content is provided for encouragement and education. Bible study notes and reflections involve interpretation. Christians hold different views on many passages and doctrines, and you are encouraged to test everything against Scripture and speak with trusted spiritual leaders.

  • We do not provide professional advice. Holy Ground is not medical, psychological, counselling, legal, financial or crisis support. If you are struggling with your mental health or are in danger, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

  • No guarantees of outcome. We cannot promise any particular spiritual, emotional, personal or practical result from using the App.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use Holy Ground. If you are under 18, you may only use the App (and purchase a subscription) with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

  • You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.

  • One account per person. Please do not share your account with others.

  • Tell us promptly at info@holygroundapp.com if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

4. Free trial, subscription and payment

  • Free trial. We may offer a free trial (currently 7 days). You will not be charged during the trial period.

  • Automatic renewal. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin automatically at the end of the trial at the price shown at sign-up (currently £0.99 per month), and will renew every month until you cancel.

  • Billing. Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store / Google Play / Stripe. Payment is taken using the payment method linked to your account with that provider.

  • Price changes. We may change our prices. We will give you reasonable notice before any change applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

  • Taxes. Prices include VAT where applicable.

  • How to cancel. You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID / Google Play subscription settings or in the App under your profile. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. You will not be charged for the next period.

5. Refunds and cancellation rights

  • Purchases through app stores. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, refund requests are handled by them under their own policies, and we are usually unable to issue refunds directly.

  • General position. Except where set out in this clause or required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable, and we do not give refunds, credits or extensions for partly used billing periods.

  • Your legal right to cancel (UK consumers). If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have the right to cancel a digital service within 14 days of purchase. By starting your free trial or asking us to give you immediate access to the App, you (a) ask us to begin providing the service straight away and (b) acknowledge that, once the service has been fully provided, you may lose your right to cancel, and that if you cancel within the 14-day period after the service has started, you may be required to pay for the service you have already used.

  • Faulty digital content. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. If the App is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund under the law that applies to you.

6. Availability, bugs and glitches

We work hard to keep Holy Ground reliable, but no app is perfect. By using the App you understand and accept that:

  • The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

  • Outages, downtime, bugs, glitches, errors, delays, data loss, and interruptions can and do happen from time to time. These may be caused by maintenance, updates, our hosting or infrastructure providers, app stores, your device or internet connection, or events outside our reasonable control.

  • We do not guarantee the App will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that every issue will be fixed by any particular time.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, temporary outages, bugs, glitches or interruptions to the App do not entitle you to a full or partial refund, credit, discount or compensation. Any goodwill gesture (such as a credit or extended access) is entirely at our discretion and does not create a right to future gestures.

  • This clause does not limit any rights you have under the law that cannot be excluded (see section 5, "Faulty digital content", and section 13).

  • If you find a bug, please tell us at info@holygroundbible.com and we will do our best to fix it.

7. Your content (journal entries and prayers)

  • "Your Content" means anything you write, submit or store in the App, including journal entries, prayers and notes.

  • You own Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it.

  • You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, back up and display Your Content only as needed to run the App for you and to keep it working.

  • Your journal entries are private to your account unless you personally share them. We do not publish them or make them visible to other users.

  • You are responsible for Your Content. Please do not submit anything unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.

  • Because of the personal and spiritual nature of what you may write, please read our Privacy Policy at [LINK], which explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data, and your rights over it.

  • Please keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. As explained in section 6, we cannot guarantee against data loss.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the App for anything unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing or hateful;

  • attempt to hack, disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the App, or bypass any security or access controls;

  • copy, scrape, resell, redistribute or commercially exploit the App or its content without our written permission;

  • use bots, scripts or automated tools to access the App;

  • upload viruses or malicious code;

  • impersonate another person or misuse another person's account; or

  • use the App in a way that could damage our reputation or the experience of others.

9. Our content and intellectual property

  • The App, including its design, branding, logo, text, study notes, graphics, software and other content (excluding Scripture text and Your Content), belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.

  • We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms.

  • The Bible text in the App is the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which has been dedicated to the public domain. The BSB is produced in cooperation with Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, OpenBible.com and the Berean Bible Translation Committee. We display the BSB text without alteration.

  • "Holy Ground" and our logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without our written permission.

10. Third-party content and services

The App may link to or rely on third-party websites, tools, translations or services (including app stores, payment providers and hosting providers). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or policies. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

11. Use outside the United Kingdom

  • Holy Ground is run from the United Kingdom. We make the App available in a number of countries and may add or remove countries at any time. We do not promise that the App, or any of its content, is suitable, lawful or available for use in every location.

  • You are responsible for following any local laws that apply to your use of the App. If it is unlawful for you to use the App where you are, you must not use it.

  • Your local consumer rights still apply. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer or data protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live. If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced against you under your local law, the rest of these Terms still applies to the fullest extent the law allows.

  • Australia. If you are in Australia, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. [CONFIRM WORDING WITH YOUR SOLICITOR]

  • Sanctions and export laws. You may not use the App if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region that is subject to comprehensive UK, US or EU sanctions, or if you are named on a sanctions list.

  • Prices, currency and tax. Prices may differ between countries and are shown in your local currency at checkout. Tax, such as VAT or sales tax, is included or added where required and is collected through your app store or payment provider.

  • Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation for convenience, the English version applies unless local law requires otherwise.

12. Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time in your profile by selecting Delete Account’.

  • We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop providing the App. Where reasonably possible we will give you notice.

  • If we end your access because you breached these Terms, you will not be entitled to a refund.

  • If we permanently close the App or a paid feature, we will give reasonable notice and, where you have prepaid for a period we cannot provide, we will refund the unused portion / provide a pro-rata credit.

  • Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (including intellectual property, liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

13. Our responsibility to you

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

  • Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

    • we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for loss of profit, business, or data, or for indirect or consequential loss;

    • we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of internet, hosting, app store, payment or telecommunications services; and

    • our total liability to you for any claim connected with the App will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

  • We are not responsible for any decisions you make, or actions you take, based on content in the App.

14. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features, legal requirements or changes to how we operate. If we make significant changes, we will notify you in the App or by email before they take effect. By continuing to use the App after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel and stop using the App.

15. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the App.

  • If part is unenforceable. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.

  • Transfers. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor or affiliate, and will let you know.

  • Third parties. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of ENGLAND AND WALES. If you are a consumer, you may also have the benefit of mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of ENGLAND AND WALES, although if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
